Linuxare. Amarok Released : Rockcember with “Earth Moving”

Before we go through and tell about release of the recent amarok, we want tell you about what it is first. Amarok is a cross platform software. it could be installed on many operating systems such as, windows, linux, mac os, and unix. and it runs natively on linux because amarok is usually bundled by kde as a main music player software. Amarok connected to many music service on the web, because  it could be connected to many music service, users has many chances to spread their collections.

One day ago, one of greatest music players in linux, especially for KDE desktop has released. The Amarok team proudly presented Amarok 2.5 “Earth Moving”.

Amarok project started in 2003 by Mark Kretschmann as an improving XMMS that has some usability problems. Before we know and call it “amarok”, it has name “amaroK” and renamed to Amarok in June 2006 and after releasing 1.4 version.

Some music players also based on amarok such as :

• Amarok live that only available only in Live CD linux distribution that has a goal to demonstrate amarok.
• Clementine, has ported to Qt 4 framework
• Exaile, has ported to GTK+ framework
• Gereqi, written using PySide
