Distribution is realized in many linux distributions, in complete package, kernel, driver, applications and the important one is forums. Every linux distributions have their fans and always support their favorite distribution and offered many features to new users. In fact, the quality of each linux distribution is not the same. Only few linux distribution looks dominant in the linux world. We try to give a 10 popular linux distro list. We get the list from distrowatch that unofficially approved as a site which has valid data about the linux distribution movement. Here is our popular linux distro list:
Mint
Linux Mint is assumed the most populer linux distribution now, surpass ubuntu that be the based of linux mint. Mint offers complete application, from office package, codec, up to multimedia player. If we install mint, we don’t need an internet connection to download the important package such as codec and multimedia player because the installer contained codec and multimedia player package.
Mint also introduced Mint Debian concept. In this version based on debian testing which has pros such as faster update announcement. Because based on debian, mint debian is not compatible with ubuntu’s repository.
Sometimes, this brings a positive impact because many users who rate the quality of software in Debian repository better than the Ubuntu repository. Many also mentioned that the Mint could overtake Ubuntu because Mint retain the use Gnome version 2. Most Ubuntu users less comfortable with the interface changes Unity deemed too radical. Ubuntu itself has many variants, such as Kubuntu is KDE based, but the Mint is still the most popular.
Ubuntu

There are also other innovations such as Zero Conf, KVM (Kernel Virtual Machine), and Blue Curve desktop systems that unify the GNOME and KDE in a similar view. Fedora is a form of collaborative open source community that is fully supported by Redhat. Because closely related to Redhat, Fedora is quite reasonable if the earliest received numerous technology updates. Approximately 30-40% of Linux developers who work in a company are employees Redhat. So, Fedora can be described as “shelf space” and “testing room” for a variety of innovations redhat.
Perhaps few know that Fedora is the basis for RHEL. For example, RHEL version 6 using the base Fedora 12.
